Situated amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Nepal, this program offers volunteers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully by teaching English to Buddhist monks and nuns, thereby empowering them with essential language skills for their future endeavors. Moreover, participants delve into the enriching world of Buddhism through engaging in monastery programs like Puja, allowing them to absorb the spiritual essence of this ancient tradition firsthand. Our program ensures a holistic experience, fostering personal growth, cultural exchange, and a profound understanding of Buddhist philosophy while making a positive impact within the local community. Join us in this remarkable journey where altruism meets enlightenment, and together, let's create enduring connections and meaningful change.

    This program lets you experience Tibetan Buddhit practice with monks in a monastery and teach little monks english language and other subjects like sports, arts, painting etc you are good at in the same time. Your major roles will be teaching monks two hours each day in particular but in general you can take part in puja, play with junior monks in their free time, keep them neat and clean etc.
    You will be working in a buddhist monastery in central Kathmandu near world famous swoyambhunath stupa also popularly known as monkey temple. We expect positive mindset, willing to bring channge through action, open mindedness from you. Please expect family atmosphere where there is homely feeling in the homestay with delicious food. 

    Please do bring general gears suitable for the season to take part in the program. Warm jacket in winter is most for Kathmandu cold. Summer gears from March-October.

    Minimum leeftijd: 18 jaar

    Om deel te nemen aan het programma dien je tenminste 18 jaar oud te zijn op de startdatum van het programma. Er kunnen uitzonderingen gemaakt worden indien je een bewijs van toestemming kan aantonen van uw wettelijke voogd(en) of samen met je ouders deelneemt.

It is home to Mount Everest, the birthplace of Buddha, and an astonishingly beautiful and diverse landscape, ranging from the well-known peaks of the Himalaya to the low-lying regions of the Terai. The Nepali people are as diverse at the geography, with over 70 languages or dialects and scores of traditional festivals celebrated throughout the year.

    Volunteering in Nepal can be an extremely rewarding and life-changing experience. Your efforts can bring great changes in the lives of individual people and the wider community. This cannot be said enough. In the difficult times that Nepal is now facing, your contribution of time or resources is extremely valuable.

    However, Nepal is also one of the most under-developed countries in the world, with low rates of literacy, high rates of poverty and a persistent gender imbalance. The government is frequently unable to provide adequate education and health facilities throughout the country and both urban and rural areas are forced to live without necessary resources to promote growth and development of their communities.
