Who We Are
Conserve Natural Forests (CNF) is an environmental NGO based in Thailand, created to protect and restore Southeast Asia’s threatened ecosystems. CNF was founded to take action against climate change by reforesting forested areas and protecting the wildlife that inhabits them. Today, we are a dedicated team of experts and volunteers working to address deforestation, biodiversity loss, and climate change through sustainable, community-focused approaches.
What We Do
CNF’s main activities include reforestation, wildlife protection, and community education. Each year, we plant thousands of native trees in degraded areas to restore wildlife habitats and support ecosystem resilience. We also run programs to protect endangered species, such as Asian elephants and tortoises, by creating safe, natural habitats for them. Through our educational workshops, we raise awareness about conservation, empowering local communities and volunteers to play an active role in preserving the environment.
Where We Work
Our work is based primarily in northern Thailand, focusing on the rich forests around Pai—a beautiful area known for its biodiversity. This region is generally safe for volunteers and visitors, with a welcoming community. However, since it is a tropical climate, we recommend that volunteers have up-to-date vaccinations.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to restore Thailand’s forests, protect endangered species, and support sustainable practices that benefit both nature and local communities. We envision a future where people and nature coexist harmoniously, with restored forests resilient to climate change and local communities committed to environmental stewardship.
Our Goals
- Reforest degraded land by planting thousands of native trees each year.
- Protect endangered wildlife by creating safe habitats and advocating for their conservation.
- Educate and engage local communities, children, and international volunteers on sustainable practices and conservation.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome environmentally-conscious, passionate individuals who want to make a difference. Ideal volunteers are proactive, adaptable, and ready for hands-on activities, from tree planting to community outreach. Although no specific skills are required, a background in ecology, conservation, or environmental studies is helpful. Volunteers should also be open to learning from and respecting Thai culture and communities.
Why Choose Us?
Joining CNF means working with a dedicated team on impactful conservation projects in one of Thailand’s most beautiful and ecologically rich regions. You’ll gain insights into reforestation, sustainable development, and wildlife protection, while making a lasting impact on the environment and local communities.
