    Om programmet

Founded in 2019 by a resilient woman who has dealt with HIV herself, this project supports women who are struggling with socio-economic isolation, poverty and the effects of HIV/AIDS. Perfect Vision offers twenty girls and women from difficult backgrounds the opportunity to participate in the programme for one year. During this time, they attend school in the morning and learn specific skills in the afternoon. Through skill-building workshops in paper bag making, soap making, sewing, jewellery design, gardening and cooking, the women gain financial independence to support themselves and their families. After one year, the project helps each woman to continue her education or open a business in her chosen field. In addition, the project produces and distributes reusable sanitary pads to schoolgirls to help reduce period-related absenteeism. During these school visits, they also teach about health, sexual hygiene and menstruation to reduce the stigma surrounding these issues and help educate everyone. The initiative is seeking global support to increase its impact on the lives of women and girls. They want every girl and woman to be able to achieve their dreams and support them on their way to their 'perfect vision' of the future.

    Om prosjektet

Viva Tanzania is a German-Tanzanian organization established in order to support meaningful and needy projects in Arusha, North Tanzania.

    Møt din vert

Viva Tanzania was established in 2015 by Tizia Doriye due to her passion for intercultural encounters, tourism and nature. Tizia is a Cultural Anthropologist by profession. Together with our local team we want to make sure that you can make experiences abroad in a safe environment.

We want to assist people from all over the world and Tanzanians to learn from one another through intercultural exchange. By helping foreigners to find meaningful projects that need support we do not only want to enable them to gain experience in working and being with people from different origins but also broaden the horizonts of everyone. Our mission is to establish an environment in which intercultural encounter can take place. Our participants will be enabled to gain first hand experience in a totally different sourrounding from what they are knowing. We want to show them the diversity of people, cultures and lifestyles. On the other hand we want to support needy projects in Arusha, our hometown.

Our vision is to change the people's perception of Africa, Tanzania and its inhabitants through challenging and reducing stereotypes and racism. We believe that this can only be done through intercultural exchange like volunteering.

Tizia is the of Viva Tanzania. She has a Bachelor in Cultural Anthropology and she wrote her Bachelor thesis about Maasai stereotypes in media and tourism. She loves her three kids and three dogs as well as the life in Tanzania. She is responsible for the website, the marketing and the communication before, while and after your stay. She already spent a year as a volunteer in Tanzania and did an internship in Arusha. She is also a yoga teacher and a massage therapist. So she definitely knows what’s important to make your time unforgettable. At the same time she is your contact person for all intercultural issues and problems.
