Typical day
At the start of each week a shadowing schedule is drafted between you and the coordinating doctor to rotate through all major departments.
Your day will begin at 8am following your shadowing schedule and see clinics, surgeries and diagnostics with the medical staff explaining everything in English. ..

The program fee includes a free airport pickup on Sunday before the start date on Monday. To qualify for the free pickup, interns are required to arrive between 9am-6pm. At the airport you will be welcomed and transferred to your housing. For interns arriving at an earlier time, a pick-up service can be provided upon request and subject to availability.
Vaccinations: Typhoid/Hep A (highly recommended), Tetanus, Yellow Fever (only required if participants travel through Kenya first).
Adequate information about the city and hosting institution will be sent before arrival. It includes information about the city, local culture, rules, emergency contact numbers and the local team.
In regard to visas, you will need to obtain a particular intern/volunteer visa on airport arrival, upon which, us as the host organisation/company will send them a letter which you will print and present at customs.
Interns should budget about 2,000 – 7,000 TSH (about US $.90 – $3 USD) per day for public transport depending on whether they choose Dala Dala, Tuk Tuk or Taxi. 10,000 to 25,000 TSH for a simple lunch out (about US$5 – 15). Tanzania has many dining options and from many different cuisines ranging from budget to high end depending on the intern’s needs. Most places accept credit/debit cards but interns are advised to carry cash in Tanzanian Shilling. There are several free ATMs in town and are easy to access.
