    About the program

Environmental management is a major concern in Bolivia and its town of Cochabamba, water shortages are recurrent and the consequences of climate change are palpable.

LifeTime Projects helps support children’s homes in the town of Cochabamba to become sustainable by implementing practical and theoretical eco learning programmes with the children. Hogares Verdes which means “Green Homes” is an educational programme about ecological citizenship. The aim is to raise awareness on environmental issues within 6 Bolivian orphanages, in order to develop an understanding of the importance of recycling, sustainable agriculture, and the protection of the environment Furthermore, urban vegetable gardens are set up with the children’s homes with home grown, organic products which provide healthy and sustainable food sources for the homes.

The elder children at the homes are also able to follow vocational training in agroforestry and environmental protection.

The Hogares Verdes project follows an ecological, economical and social logic that entirely contributes to sustainable improvements in the living environment of Cochabamba. The long term aim is to integrate environmental issues in local political discussions and behaviour.

We organise an online meeting between you and our local in Bolivia so you can get to know each other before your arrival and so as to tailor your project accordingly. Our team will pick you up at Cochabamba, Jorge Wilstermann airport and accompany you throughout. We provide accommodation with host families to ensure a comfortable stay and to enhance linguistic immersion for our volunteers. We are committed to providing optimal support to volunteers who decide to join us in Bolivia. Therefore, we assist you in your initial days, including airport pick-up, city tour, SIM card purchase, explanation of public transportation, and guidance throughout your volunteering. To ensure a smooth experience, we organise weekly meetings with our volunteers to discuss the week's progress and address any problems or questions.

    Typical day

If you want to get involved in the environmental sector, there are many skills that can be useful in the Hogares Verdes project. Recycling, organic farming, sustainable development, agroforestry, low tech agricultural solutions, awareness raising through creative arts and games etc.

You can participate in the projects by sharing your knowledge and by proposing your own activities on the sustainable development and eco-citizenship theme, but also by sharing your personal experiences and enthusiasm with our local team and partners and help engage young people coming from these Bolivian care homes about environmental issues.

The first part of the day will be from 8.30 am to 12pm where you will stay with the children and make them learn about eco-citizenship in theoretical practice. From 12 to 13 pm you have lunch with your host family. Then from 13 to 16.30 pm you will be with the children for manual practice such as building a chicken pen and helping them learn about eco citizenship through games and activities.

    About the project

We believe that the best way to discover a new culture is through working on a social project with the local population and living their daily life with them.

    Meet your organization

LifeTime Projects is a French based non profit organisation.

We work in the following fields :
     - Child protection
     - Women's rights
     - The protection of the environment and animal welfare
     - Eco citizenship

    In the following countries :
    - Bolivia
    - Cameroun
    - Colombia
    - Guatemala
    - England
    - France

    We believe in :

Living in total immersion in the country you visit
By discovering the world with LifeTime Projects, you will experience unforgettable moments. Whether during your mission, with your host family or with the people you meet, you will discover the culture and traditions of a country directly. Thanks to this complete immersion in the life of the country, and having built a project with the locals, you will return with a real knowledge of the local culture.

    Take part in concrete actions
Do you have difficulty measuring the impact of good deed ? The best way to measure the usefulness of your actions is to carry them out directly, in the field! That is why LifeTime Projects supports you in the design and organization of your humanitarian mission or gap year in total immersion.

Change your world view, make a difference
Our humanitarian and ecological missions are designed to have a maximum impact, not only locally but also on the volunteer who will return to his or her daily life enriched by a new perspective on the world.
We act where people need us most and where our presence is most wanted. You will come back with the feeling that you have made a difference and made your contribution to a more understanding world. We believe we all have a lot to learn fro each other and putting different cultures together is enriching and strengthening for all.

    Your footprint
We hope to leave our mark, that of sharing, love and mutual respect, in the hearts of the people we meet and work with (note that our organization is independent of any political party and religious organization).
Whether in Cameroon, Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia, France or England, discovering the world allows a better understanding of its challenges. What seems distant from France takes a whole new dimension before, during and after the experience of a mission with LifeTime Projects.
Participating in an international development mission with LifeTime Projects also means contributing to sustainable development by helping people and changing their view of the world.
