As a Youth Support volunteer, you’ll work with kids aged 6 to 15 after school or care for younger children/babies while their parents study or work. Your goal is to be a positive role model, inspiring and encouraging students to think about their futures, set goals, and achieve them!

What to Expect:

  • Positive Role Model: Spend time with children, helping them envision and pursue their dreams.

  • Educational Support: Assist with homework and teach English in an informal setting.

  • Activity Design: Create and implement new extracurricular activities and teach new sports, it’s up to you!

Daily Tasks:

  • Teaching English: Help kids learn English through fun and informal methods.

  • Games and Activities: Arrange and participate in games and activities to engage and entertain the children.

  • Supervision and Interaction with the Kids

  • Homework AssistanceSkill Teaching: Share your talents by teaching sports, cultural activities, languages, instruments, games, or crafts.

  • Summer Camp Support: from June to August, our partner organizations host summer camps for the kids, and they always need extra help to implement cool activities and entertain them! Please note that if you apply for this project for the summer months, you may have full-day shifts.

Why Join?

  • Make an Impact: Help children from disadvantaged communities reach their full potential.

  • Gain Experience: Develop skills in education, childcare, and community engagement.

Porto is the second biggest city in Portugal and one of the most authentic cities to visit in the country. Stroll through its sinuous and picturesque streets and feel the pulse of the city, or take the tram to the mouth of the river Douro and get to know the excellent beaches and the outdoor cafés. The historic center of Porto was declared UNESCO World Heritage but is the hospitality and forceful character of the locals that will delight you. Porto is a vibrant and young city with countless cafés, bars, and clubs to have a really good time at night, or relaxed rooftops to have a drink and enjoy the warm Portuguese climate.

Porto, the gate to the North of the country, is definitely worth the visit!

It's not that I was disappointed by the cats, it was just a shock, and also, at points of the sanctuary I feel like I wasn't apart of it massively, there wasn't ...
